Research Development & Sciences – General
Background
CSL is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Process Development team at Bern. Within Process
Development we are continuously striving to improve current processes, focusing especially on efficiency. You
will be involved in planning experiments, operating various filtration systems, analyzing data, and writing
reports.
Task and Responsibilites:
• Independent planning, performing, and evaluation of experiments
• Write and review protocols and reports
• Play an active role in the development and optimization of the manufacturing process
• Support and train new team members to be able to perform experiments successfully
• Planning and support of the technology transfer from lab scale to pilot scale and to the production facility
• Testing and improving system automation
• Performing routine maintenance and calibration on critical instrumentation
You must have these qualifications:
- University (or equivalent institution of higher education) degree in a relevant field (Molecular Life Sciences, Process
Development). Higher postgraduate degrees, e.g. Masters or PhD, will be well regarded - Experience in Process Development in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience plasma proteins and / or plasma fractionation
- Highly motivated and strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a team as well as semi-autonomously; establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with
objectives according to the team’s goals - Experience in or familiarity with Quality by Design principles, including Design of Experiments (DoE) will be well
regarded - Experience in or familiarity with Data Processing Software (e.g. Statistica or R)
- Good scientific report writing and presentation skills
- Think outside of the box to find solutions to difficult problems
- Interest in lab work (approx. 70 % lab and 30 % office)
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Language proficiency: near native / fluent in German and / or English. Highly proficient in both languages will be well
regarded
